Pauline Ruth Asplund, 97, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away June 27, 2017. She was born on June 20, 1920 in New Castle, Indiana to Charles and Delcia (nee Merriman) Lewis.

She worked primarily as a housewife but also as a telephone operator during the 1940's, and also held a few clerical positions, retiring in 1974. Pauline was a Church pre-school teacher for many years; working with the church youth brought her much joy. She was also an avid reader and a golfer in her younger days. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and was loved by all.

Pauline is survived by her Son, Frank (Pam) Asplund; grandchildren, David (Lacey) Asplund and Sara (Brandon) Harwell; and great-granddaughter, Hazel Asplund. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Miller Asplund.

A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
