Mrs. Peggy LeJunne Shelley, Bargersville, passed away on the late evening of Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the age of 78.
Peggy was born November 10, 1946, in Crane, Indiana, a daughter of the late Leary and Margaret (Bratton) Bailey.
She was a proud graduate of Ben Davis High School. Peggy was employed as a machine operator with Nice-Pak Corporation, where she worked faithfully until retiring after 10 years of service due to illness.
In her leisure time, Peggy found joy in the kitchen and was especially known for her holiday feasts. Her cookies, fudge, Christmas ham, potatoes, and green beans became family traditions and will long be remembered. She delighted in playing games with her family, working sudoku puzzles, and celebrating holidays with enthusiasm, always making them special for loved ones. Peggy also enjoyed traveling, from cruises to trips to Holiday World, and could often be found at the slot machines. She liked collecting movies and shot glasses, watching the Game Show Network, and following her favorite teams—the Pacers, the Colts, and NASCAR. She and her husband cherished the memory of attending the inaugural Brickyard 400 together. Above all, Peggy considered her greatest accomplishment to be her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Ronnie Shelley; her sons, Randy Shelley and Kevin (Lori) Shelley; her grandchildren, Jason Shelley, Joseph Shelley, Austin Shelley, and Dylan Shelley; her siblings, Patty (Johnny) Medvescek, Marsha (Don) Ervin and Randy (Peggy) Bailey; her sister-in-law, Judy Bailey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in passing by her brother, Bobby Bailey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeremy Towne officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
