Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10:00 am for Phil Lee Worrick, 82, who passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Phil was predeceased by his parents, Arthur D. and Ethel Mae (Dickerson) Worrick, and his sister, Betty Lou Pearson (Larry Joe). He is survived by his nieces, Shelley Breaud (Alan) of Lafayette, and Stacey Pearson of Baton Rouge; and his great-nephews Hudson Breaud, Hal Lambert, and Harrison Breaud.
Raised in Johnson County, Indiana, Phil worked for 26 years at Kopetsky's Car Wash in Greenwood. After moving to Lafayette in 1999, he worked for 11 years at Albertsons on Johnston Street, where he was well known among customers and co-workers alike. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church for many years. He was a passionate NASCAR fan, possessed encyclopedic knowledge about John Wayne, and was an avid collector of As Seen On TV "memorabilia" from Walgreens.
Dealt a myriad of challenges, Phil met life on life's terms with dogged determination and a good sense of humor. He and his family were blessed by the kindness of countless friends and complete strangers who befriended him, cared for him… and took his phone calls. "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40
Phil was loved and will be missed.
