Philip E. Ennis passed away on November 11, 2008 at the age of 84. Born February 6, 1924 he is survived by his brother Jack Ennis (wife Eva) and sister Annie Hirschman (husband Harry). Mr. Ennis'' sons and their families include son: Gregory Philip and Melissa (Minton) Ennis, with grandchildren Jennifer Rebecca Richard (husband James and great-grandchildren Emma Irene, Caden Bryon, and James Jr.); Jonathan Philip Ennis (great-grandson Dakota Austin Hoskins); David Gregory Ennis; Jesse Wilder Cowan; and Brenna Claire Cowan; Son: Rodney Craig and Pamela (Sanches) Ennis; granddaughter Lear Christine Ennis; son: Douglas Eugene (deceased) and Barbara (Levesque) Ennis with grandchildren Megan Ennis and Philip Ennis; daughter: Deborah Ann and Lawrence J. Kline with grandchildren Jill Christine Scott (deceased) and William Philip Scott. Philip Ennis was happily married to Norma Jean (Tindall) until she passed away in 1979. Philip was a Navy Corpsman in the 4th Marines Division during World War II, a Master Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. He was a private pilot (awarded his license in his 60''s) and enjoyed flying, sailing and fast cars. He built speedboats, racing go carts, playhouses and scale model train village for his family. His children and their extended family (aunts, uncles, and cousins) lived and learned through spending time together at the family shared vacation home at Lake Shafer in Monticello, Indiana with all too frequent trips to Indiana Beach. His sons fondly recall hunting trips and learning to safely manage firearms with their Dad. He and his wife Norma loved traveling and most importantly spending time with their family. He was our friend, teacher, physician, magician and Dad. He made a harsh world loving for all of us. We will miss all those wonderful times. Funeral service will be 10:30am Saturday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. St. Rd 135 with visitation there between 3 and 8pm Friday.
