Mr. Phillip Dale Williams, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, April 26, 2025. He was 77 years old.
Dale was born July 1, 1947, in Loudon, Tennessee, a son of the late Phillip Wesley Williams and Edna Lucille (Jett) Williams. A proud graduate of Arlington High School in Indianapolis, Dale went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Takhli Royal Thai AFB from 1970-1971, where he served as a crew chief for the F-105 Thunderchief. He also worked on the SR-71 Blackbird. Following his military service, he went to work at Western Electric where he met his wife Brenda. After his time at Western Electric, he enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a mechanical worker with Raytheon Corporation.
Dale lived a life full of energy, kindness, and commitment to family and community. He and his wife, Brenda, were members of the Riley Wranglers Square Dance Club, sharing many joyful moments with friends through dance. Together, they also loved traveling — often visiting family in Tennessee and making special trips to Branson MO to listen to gospel music. Dale enjoyed visiting his old F-105 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio and the National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, VA.
Dale was a loyal supporter of the Indianapolis Colts and the University of Tennessee Volunteers football teams. He took great pride in caring for his yard and spending time outdoors, a pastime he enjoyed sharing with his beloved wife. Dale was known for his outgoing personality; he never met a stranger and brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. He also had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats and dogs, reflecting his gentle and compassionate spirit.
Above all, Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support for those he cherished.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Archer) Williams; his children, Jeremy (Julie) Williams and Lori Williams; his granddaughters, Kelsea Williams and Kayla Williams; his brother, Mark (Robin) Williams and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in passing by his brother, Jeff Williams; an infant brother and his nephew, Chad McPheeters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2025, at GracePoint Church, 330 West Whiteland Road, Whiteland, Indiana. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Brazil, Indiana.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
