Phyllis Elenor Bumps, Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was 85 years old. Phyllis was born in Indianapolis, IN to her parents John and Clara Nolan. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of 1956.
Phyllis worked as a case worker for Eli Lilly for and retired after over 35 years of service. Phyllis was a lifelong catholic who practiced her faith privately. Phyllis was a member of a bowling team called "The 56ers", composed of fellow 1956 graduates who would enjoy participating in bowling tournaments. Phyllis also enjoyed volunteering for the Big and Little Sister's club to give back to the community. Phyllis loved bowling, golfing and traveling the world. She had a hyper personality and a strong willed nature. She admirably served her family as a caregiver every chance she could. Phyllis managed to walk 5 miles a day for many years and spoiled her beloved yorkie, Pickles. She will be missed by those she leaves behind.
Phyllis is survived by her sister, Mary J. Basey; several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Steven Clark; her 7 siblings.
A visitation for Phyllis will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The funeral service will be on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 12:00 pm.
