Phyllis L.
Larocco
Dec 28, 1925 — May 2, 2020
Greenwood
Phyllis L. (Lawbaugh) LaRocco, 94, of Greenwood went home to her beloved Lord Jesus May 2, 2020. She was born in Lake Village, Indiana on December 28, 1925 to Lincoln and Pearl (Gordon) Lawbaugh.
Phyllis earned her bachelor degree as a registered nurse in Chicago, where she met and married the love of her life, Phillip LaRocco. Phyllis stayed home to raise their children until it was time for them to go to Christian school, then she went back to work to put them through school. Phyllis was a member of the Thompson Road Baptist Church where she was also an interpreter for the deaf in the congregation. In the summertime she would host the Good News Bible Club in the front yard of their home for the children of the neighborhood. Phyllis loved to read her Bible and she loved her Lord with all her heart, her mind and her strength and wanted to share the Good News and hope for eternity with everyone. Phyllis had a beautiful soul and looked more and more like Jesus every day she lived on this earth. She will be missed by so many.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Steve) Jenkins; grandchildren, Stephen (Laura) LaRocco, Daniel LaRocco, David LaRocco, Jenny (Mike) Coop, Jeff (Jessie) Shackelford, and Emily (John) Olivera; great grandchildren, Samuel, Benjamin, Margaret and Joseph LaRocco, Ashley and Audrey Coop, Blake and Taylor Shackelford, Landon, Wrenley and Wesley (on the way) Olivera; sons-in-law, Kenny Carter, and Randy Shackelford; daughter-in-law, Susie LaRocco, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; son, Reverend Joseph LaRocco; daughter, Gerry Carter; and 5 siblings.
