Obituary

With profound sadness and heartache we announce the passing of Phyllis McKnight, a loving and devoted mother and friend to all.

On April 30, 2020 the Lord called her home to her eternal rest in the early morning hours after a long illness.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana to Wilbur and Daisy Beach she had three sisters: Lorene, Corena, and Donna and one brother Paul.  Phyllis adored her parents and was never very far from them until their passing.  Three of her siblings preceded her in death and Donna survives.

She married Gilbert McKnight who she was happily married to in 1953 and whom she was married to for 67 years.  Out of the marriage 5 children emerged: Karen, Debbie, Shirley, Danny, and Dustin. She was proud of all her children and fiercely loved them and made it her life's goal to raise good and god fearing people, she leaves 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud.

Phyllis was never one to shay away from a challenge.  She excelled at being a wife, mother, sister or friend.  Affectionately know as "Sissy" or "Poochie" she loved people.

Phyllis excelled as a business owner all the while keeping her family and faith at fore front.  None of us that loved her will ever forget the Thanksgivings and Christmases that were held at her house.  And oh how she loved to pick berries for her delicious cobblers!  She was an accomplished chef and loved cooking and entertaining for her family.

For us who had the honor and privilege to know her, it can honestly be said she is truly irreplaceable.  The only saving grace for us is the knowledge is that she is with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  We all knew she longed to be able to ask questions that she needed answers to.

Our world, indeed the whole world is a lesser place with her gone. But heaven is that much better!

Timothy II 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
