Greenwood:
Phyllis Laverne Roach, 86, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born on January 4, 1925 in Michigan City, IN to the late Walter and Anna (Mason) Terrell. Phyllis married her one and only true love Owen Earl Roach on August 30, 1941.
Phyllis worked in the school cafeteria at Center Grove School System for 25 years. She loved to play Bingo; enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, the Colts, and softball; and going on lunch dates. She collected and watched cardinals in the gardens. She attended Smith Valley Baptist Church. But more importantly, she loved her grandchildren to the utmost, as they will miss her dearly.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children: Kathleen Snyder (Harry), Debra Underwood (Rick), and Jeani Hall (Donald); brother Walter Paul Terrell, Jr., 8 beautiful grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband Owen of 61 years; son Kenneth Eugene Roach; grandson George Emerson Hiatt, Jr., 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood with the funeral service immediately following.
