Purpole Elbert Hancock, 75, of Indianapolis, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. He was born February 28, 1933 in Harrisburg, IL, to the late Pinkney and Maudie (Parish) Hancock. Purpole was a cement mason and was an avid square dancer. Survivors include the mother of his children, Elizabeth Angell; three sons, Ray (Jeanna) Hancock, Richard Hancock, and David Hall; one daughter, Leslie (Steve) Brown; a brother, Rodney Hancock; a sister, Myrna Fink; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Hancock, seven brothers, and five sisters. The family will recieve friends on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 4 till 8 PM, and a funeral service will be on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 1 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
