Rachel Curry, 89, of Freedom, Indiana, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017. The daughter of Iva Lee Cook and Carlie Lyle, Rachel was born Thursday, March 8, 1928 in Donansburg, Kentucky.
She was a member of Who So Ever Will Community Church, Edinburgh and did upholstery in her free time. She would can and freeze the vegetables she grew annually from her garden. A skilled seamstress, she would make her own clothes and also for her family
Rachel is survived by her son, Doyle W. (Becky) Curry of Knifley, KY and her daughter, Carolyn J. (Kenny) Corlette of Freedom; grandchildren, Daniel W. Curry of Indianapolis, Michelle R. Curry of Anderson, Jacob W. Curry of Phoenix, AZ, David W. (Gina) Curry of Cincinnati, OH and Ted A. (Shannon) Young of Franklin.; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Curry.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call starting at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
