Ray Eugene Prather passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010. He was a resident of Greenwood, IN and was born May 21, 1938 to the late Eugene and Kathleen (Schoolcraft) Prather of Martinsville, IN. He married Nancy Jo Puckett of Bargersville, IN on January 27, 1962. They were married for 48 years. Ray graduated from Martinsville High School in 1956, and graduated from Lain Technical Institute with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1961. He served as a Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1968. Upon graduation from Lain, Ray worked as an Assistant Chief Engineer at H&B Manufacturing until 1973, when he became Manager of the Processing Equipment Division for Kitchen Machinery. In 1981 Ray went to work for Midwest Tank and Manufacturing where he was the Vice President of Sales and Engineering. He was the Past President of the Jaycees of White River Township. Ray was an avid hunter, and enjoyed golfing, refinishing furniture and repairing watches and clocks. Ray is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter, Angila Retherford and her husband, Russell, of Evansville, and son, Nicholas Prather and his fianc, Crystal Pryor, of Greenwood; grandchildren Liza Claire and Madeline Ling Retherford; two brothers, Larry Prather and his wife Darla Gae and Mike Prather and his wife Dalene, all of Martinsville. Funeral services will be Friday, March 12, at 11:00AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is Thursday March 11, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
