Obituary

Raymond Lee Gibson was born July 19, 1923, and entered Heaven's Gates on Friday, May 16, 2025. He is now with the love of his life, Helen Eloise (Cruea) who passed away January 23, 1992. Raymond was the son of Ulric "Ike" Riley Gibson and Hattie Mae (Powell). He lived most of his life in Indianapolis, IN and a short period of time in Dana, IN. Raymond served in the United States Army, in infantry/ paratrooper and served our Country in WWII from 1942-1945 in the Philippines. A southeast Asian country in the Western Pacific, Capital is Manila. After getting out of the service, he worked 36 years for Raup Tile & Cabinet Company as a kitchen specialist. He was saved and served as a deacon and church bus driver for Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Later, they merged with Thompson Road Baptist Church. The pastor was Pastor Roy Julian. His pastor then was pastor Anthony Slutz. Dad's hobbies were bowling, fishing, and motorcycling. He loved the wind in his face riding his motorcycle. They, Carl, Ray and Don rode together and were known as "The Gibson Boys."
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Harold, Ruth Margaret (Burrello), Carl Scott, Mabel Louise Mulkey, Donald Dean, Dorothy Jean, triplet who died at birth.
Raymond and Helen had three children, Gloria Lee, Michael Ray, and Gregory Allan. After "children's" marriages, Mother and Daddy had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, many sweet nieces and nephews. He has a remaining sibling, Edith Violet (Derrett) Gunter.
He will be missed but we have the promise of seeing him again in Heaven.
At peace and in the arms of Jesus, and no more pain.
A visitation for Raymond will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 11:00 am.
