Raymond "Ray" Charles Lindley passed away on March 31, 2023. He was 90 years old. He was born in Indianapolis, IN to his parents Cecil and Luella Lindley. Mr Lindley graduated from Center Grove High School in 1950. He later joined the United States Army where he served three years, from 1951 to 1954, and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.
Mr. Lindley was an accomplished carpenter. He built the home in which he raised his family and performed many home remodeling projects for others. He enjoyed farming, fishing, camping, and watching IU basketball. Mr. Lindley worked as a backhoe operator for over 27 years at Citizens Gas Coke & Utility until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Lindley is survived by his daughters Brenda Lindley and Karen Lindley (Kathie), grandson Austin Russell, sister Doris Janneck, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Corinne Tapscott Lindley, parents, sisters Alice Barnett and Virginia Woolwine, brothers Gilbert and Edward Lindley, and second wife Norma Lindley.
A visitation for Mr. Lindley will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Ben Franklin Mausoleum in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (1977 S SR 135, Greenwood, IN, 46143)  from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 2:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm.
