Raymond L. Loy (Ray), 71, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010, from Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). He was born November 16, 1938, in Mars Hill. Ray drove a tanker truck for 36 years with Univar. He was preceded by his wife Bonnie, and his parents Lawrence and Naomi Loy. Ray precedes daughters Judy Carnahan (Alan), Starrla Cappell (Robert), and Katherine Featherston; grandchildren Desmond South, Derrick South, Brittany Rodriguez (Greig), David Featherston (Sara), Adam Featherston, Thomas Garrabrant, Christine Shadle; and four great grandchildren. Ray was admired by everyone. He was very loving and his generosity went unmatched. During the past several months, while enduring a rough battle with the disease, Ray displayed his true personality. He never wanted to be a burden on anyone, worked hard to achieve his tasks and felt guilty when he needed assistance. He reminisced cherished memories with all those he loved. He fought with admirable strength and never lost his sense of humor. May we always remember him for his strength, selflessness, compassion and his love for his family. May he be at peace with his heavenly Father awaiting the eternal reunion with all of those he loved. Family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Thursday. Funeral will be at 10:30 am Friday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, Greenwood, IN. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
