Rex Leroy "Gray Beard" Bright, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away July 23, 2015. The son of Robert A. and Verna F. Hurt Bright, Rex was born May 10, 1938 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

Rex was a retired truck driver, over the years having worked for CTT, NAB, Whiteford, Overland Express and Dale Watkins. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, following the career of Tony Stewart; he enjoyed his dogs. Rex loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When time allowed, he enjoyed listening to the music of George Jones.

Rex is survived by wife, Sandra K. Bright of Indianapolis, whom he married on November 12, 1971; daughters, Beverly (Doug) Weidman of West Lafayette and Linda (Charles) Esteb of Martinsville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by brothers Bill and Max Bright and sister, Donna Belle Anderson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. July 28, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. July 27, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
