Richard H. Johnson, 80, of Whiteland, IN died October 17, 2015. Born September 25, 1935 in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Schakel) Johnson. He was a 1953 graduate of Emmerich Manual High School. He married Martha Tucker on December 21, 1958. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Board member and coach of Southport Little League and enjoyed yardwork. Richard retired from Allison Transmission in 1992, after twenty five years of service. He is survived by his wife Martha; a son, Mark Johnson; a daughter Kay (Doug) McPherson; a sister, Judy VanNess, and four grandchildren, Olivia and Maddie Johnson, and Matt and Kenzie McPherson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 6:30 P.M. Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. 135, Greenwood, In 46143, with visitation from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
