Richard L. Plummer, 67, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in Franklin. Richard was born on January 30, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Marvin Barkley and Helen Elizabeth (Ketring) Plummer. Richard is a graduate of Clark High School. He married his love Shirley F. Farno on September 4, 1966.
Richard was a wonderful family man and friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. He worked at Vectren Company for 30 years as a gas meter repairman, retiring in 2006. Thereafter, he started his own repair company. Richard enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening as well as working on automobiles and tractors.
Richard is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 44 years; children: Wendy Reifeis; Art Reifeis (Kirby); and Cindy O''Sullivan; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and brothers: Marshall Plummer (Donna) and Marvin Plummer (the late Judy).
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and son Tony Plummer.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Simon Cancer Center at IU.
