Richard L. Skaggs, 71, of Livingston, Texas, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Winter Haven, Florida. He was born June 6, 1941 in Indianapolis to the late Harold and Mildred (Shelby) Skaggs. On December 3, 1960 he married Patricia Ellis in Indianapolis.

Richard retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department after thirty and one half years of service. He and Patricia have enjoyed traveling in their motor home for the past thirteen years.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; a son, Bryan (Sara) Skaggs; a daughter, Tammy Skaggs; a sister, Barbara Hubner; a granddaughter, Brandi (Keith) Bibb; and a great grandson, Matthew.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
