Richard Eugene
Stack
Oct 7, 1942 — Aug 3, 2021
Greenwood
Mr. Richard Eugene "Dick" Stack, Greenwood, went Home to be with the Lord on the early morning of Tuesday, August 3, 2021. He was 78. Dick was born October 7, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of Ralph Eugene and the late Nellie Ruth (Tabor) Stack.
Dick attended Pike High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1960. He was employed at EDS in Columbus as a data center manager and retired in 2002 after 35 years of service. Dick served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Hawaii with the 25 th Infantry.
Dick was a member of Emmanuel Church of Greenwood and was a former member of Charity Baptist Church in Clermont, where he was the radio director for many years. Dick loved the Lord and it was evident in his service of others. In helping others, he always put their needs before his own. He cared for his mother during her last years until she passed in 2014 and at the time of his passing, he had been caring for his 100 year old father.
Dick loved his family fiercely and cherished the time they could spend together. A sports enthusiast himself, he would always attend the sporting events of his children and grandchildren, often offering additional coaching after a game. He was their mentor and greatest fan.
Dick enjoyed a good game of golf and old cars. He also enjoyed Indiana University basketball and music, especially that of Elvis Presley. And the question he most often asked, "Help me understand...?"
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Brenda Joyce (Miller) Stack; his four children, Terri (Perry) Ellington, Gary (Debby) Stack, Kari Clendenen and Shari Doty; his grandchildren, James Ellington, Kevin (Olivia) Stack, Karsten Stack, Kholton Stack, Kaden Stack, Kamryn Stack, Jaeley Clendenen, Braylyn Clendenen, Cpl. Tyler Doty and Devin Doty; a great-grandson, Kyle Stack; his father, Ralph Stack; his brother, Jerry (Pat) Stack; his uncle Don Tabor; his brother-in-law, William Jenkins as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in passing by his son, Kevin Wayne Stack; a granddaughter Kaitlyn Stack and a sister, Karen Jenkins and several aunts and uncles.
