Obituary

Richard "Dick" Tracy, 83, of Greenwood Indiana passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday,April 29, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born in Chicago to Michael and Anne (Melco)Tracy. After graduating Tech High School, Dick joined the US Navy, where he proudly served his country on the USS Ticonderoga from 1956-1958.

On August 11,1962 he married his love, Barbara Gene (Chamberlain) Tracy, who precedes him in death.

Dick is survived by 2 sons Rick (Karen) Tracy and Jeff (Cari) Tracy. He was the proud grandfather of 4 grandchildren Alexis (Jake) Morris, Addison(Geoffrey)Jones, Justin and Katelyn Tracy, and 1 great grandchild. His  two sisters Rose and (Dick) Thayer, of Fort Wayne, Shirley Botkin, of Indianapolis and  sister in law, Nancy Tracy, of California also survive.

Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife Barb Tracy, parents Michael and Anne Tracy and twin brother Ron Tracy.

Dick was a devoted and beloved father, father in law, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle, Friend and jokester  He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be profoundly missed. A generous giver, who found fulfillment in serving others and spending quality time with his family will be the legacy he gifts to us.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life is being planned by the family to be held at a later date.

Continuing his legacy of generosity and giving, the family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Wheeler Mission P.O.Box 3085 Indianapolis 46206.
