Richard Wilbur Green, Bargersville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He was 85 years old. Richard was born in Indianapolis, IN, to his parents, Wilbur and Opal Green. Richard married his wife, Sally (Steffey) Green, on August 27, 1960, and they shared 65 years of marriage together.
Richard worked in water processing for Eli Lilly and retired after 35 years of dedicated service. Richard loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. He was a member of Fair Haven Christian Church with his wife for many years; Richard was also known to partake in church mission trips for many years. He was a dedicated volunteer, and board member for Camp Allendale for over twenty years. Richard worked on several camp buildings alongside his family and even mowed the grass when needed. Additionally, Richard was a great bowler and enjoyed bowling in multiple leagues throughout his life. He loved to spend time with his beloved family and will be remembered for his quiet and gentle spirit. Richard will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sally; their children, Cathie (Rick) Houchin and Kenneth (Cindy) Green; their grandchildren, Elizabeth (Joshua) Mosier, Sarah (Bobby) Barton, Tyler (Amanda) Houchin and Sherry Jo Green; their great grandchildren, Jackson Mosier, Devyn Grace Mosier, Brayden Barton, Kaitlyn Barton, Wyatt Barton, Reece Houchin, and Colson Houchin; his sister, VeeAnn (Butch) Kay; his brother, Jimmie (Rose) Green.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for Richard will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be another time of visitation on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11:30 am with Randy Pim and Brian Clark officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 12:30 pm.
