Mrs. Rita Marie Calvert, Greenwood, passed away on the early morning of Saturday, November 27, 2021 from complications with pulmonary disease. She was 79. Rita was born in Glenns Valley, Indiana, a daughter of the late Corbett William and Dorothy Marie (Dillard) Woolsey.

Rita attended Emmerich Manual High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1961. She had been employed with Hallmark Greeting Cards as a retail distributor and retired in 2005. In her leisure time, Rita enjoyed quilting, crafts and creating beautiful dried floral arrangements. She also spent time caring for her flower beds. Rita also enjoyed traveling and taking family vacations to Florida.

Watching movies on the Hallmark Channel was usually a part of her day. She was an avid tennis player as was her entire family, while her children were growing up. She once entered a tennis tournament and after winning the championship, never participated in another!

Rita deeply loved and cared for her family and cherished the moments they could share together. She was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority and attended the Greenwood United Methodist Church.

Rita is survived by her loving husband, Pat Calvert; her children, Lisa (Tim) Sutton, Jay (Anitra) Calvert, Andrea (John) Sanders and Angela Calvert; her grandchildren, Kaitlin (Eric) Hetland, Scott Sutton, Nick Calvert, Alexis Calvert, Josh Calvert, Sam Utzig, Ethan Utzig, William Sanders, Jessica Sanders, Calvin Pickens and Cameron Calvert; her great-grandgaughter, Harper Hetland; her siblings, Janet Kroger, Theresa (Don) Day and Michael Woolsey as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in passing by her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, December 6, 2021 at the funeral home.
