Obituary

Mr. Robert Dale 'Bob' Briner, Indianapolis, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, December 30, 2020 after an extended illness. He was 68. Bob was born January 15, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana a son of the late Charles K. and Helen C. (Massonic) Briner.

Bob attended Southport High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1971 and had also attended St. Paul Bible College (now Crown College) in St. Paul, Minnesota. He spent his working career with the State of Indiana at the State Government Center as a specialist assisting those with special needs in securing employment. For many years, Bob also worked for the Indianapolis Public Library specifically at the Wayne Township and Southport branches. He was a long-time member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Bob enjoyed books, classical music as well as coin collecting.

He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Sherry Lynn (Hinton) Briner; his daughter, Bethany Ann Marie (Scott) Strother; his grandchildren, Emily, Ryan and Gracie; several extended family members and his friends and co-workers who will also miss him.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in passing by his brother, Charles K. 'Sonny' Briner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 7, 2021 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Indianapolis with Father Peter Marshall officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 pm, Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.

Per the Governor's mandate, attendance will be limited to 25 people and if you are feeling any symptoms of illness, please do not attend. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
