Robertine "Robey" Stropes, 93 of Waverly passed September 12, 2018 at Meadow Lakes. Robertine was born in Monroe City, Indiana on April 10, 1925 to Joseph and Olive Mize. Robertine worked at Western Electric for 25 years before the plant closed in 1985. Even though Robertine was retired she didn't let grass grow under her feet, she worked part-time at different car dealers doing dealer trades. Robertine also worked during the month of May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a Yellow Shirt. Robertine loved to be outside in her yard, gardening and watching her birds. In her spare time she volunteered at Mooresville Senior Citizens Center, Harrison Township Fire Station. Robertine attended Waverly Baptist Church and was a member of the Waverly Eastern Star. Robertine is survived by her daughter, Erma Sizemore; son-in-law, Donnie Allen; sister, Georganna 'Tootie'; her beloved grandchildren, Brett (Debbie) Stow, Chett (Tina) Stow, Randy (Laura) Kinnaird, Tiffany (Marty) Mills, Brent (Tammy) Allen, Niki (Patrick) Donaldson, Dustin Simmerman, Donnetta Coats and Heather Stargle; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. Robertine is preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Persinger; son, Donald "Duck" Persinger and daughter, Gwenolyn "Kay" Allen; step-children, Paul Persinger and Linda Brewer; siblings, Edna Louise, Mary Francis, Clifford, Joseph Henry, Carolyn, Shirley, Jack and Josephine. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, In 46143.
