Rodney Jay Ziegler, 63, of Beech Grove, passed away March 2, 2016 at his residence. Born January 28, 1953 in Lafayette, IN, he was the son of the late Donald and Frances (Bunnell) Ziegler.

He was a 1971 graduate of Fountain Central High School, and Lincoln Christian University in 1975, with a B.S in Christian Ministry. He married Joy Flick on August 24, 1974 in Crawfordsville, IN. He enjoyed serving God by serving others, crocheting, reading, and nature. He was the Associate Minister at the First Christian Church in Beech Grove for thirteen years; he too, was an Elder at Southport Heights Christian Church for thirteen years. He then worked for Hall and House Lumber Company until his retirement.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Joy; two sons, Daniel (Katie) Ziegler and Benjamin (Ashley) Ziegler; two daughters, Jennie and April Ziegler; a brother, Jack Ziegler; a sister, Connie Ziegler; grandchildren, Malachi, Zack and Cassidy Ziegler. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Darlene Ziegler.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Southport Heights Christian Church, 7154 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
