Obituary

Ronald "Blackie" Loren Jackson, 91, of Greenwood, passed away June 17, 2013. The son of Andrew G. and Freda Roberts Jackson, Blackie was born December 19, 1921 in Hanover, Indiana.

He served in the US Army during WW II with the Flying Tigers, 308th Bomb Group, flying missions in China, India and Burma. He was a member of Paynesville Christian Church and IBEW Local #481.

Blackie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pauline Land Jackson of Greenwood; daughters, Marcie A. (Rusty) Schroeder of Indianapolis, Dixie L. (Joe) Pete of Greenwood and Kelley L. (Richie) Williams of Fairview, TX; brother, Burlyn Jackson of Madison, IN; grandchildren, Vanessa (Geoff) Mahan, Kathy Fritz and Jackson Williams; great-grandchildren, Jim Fritz, Griffin Oakes, Cole Mahan and Kinley Mahan; great-great-grandson, Jackson Fritz; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Grant Allen Fritz; brothers, Lloyd, George, Millis, Boyce and Terry and sisters, Shirley Dee, Rose Ann and Hildreth. Blackie and Pauline enjoyed RVing, especially to Texas and Florida and he loved to play pool.

Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Services will be private. Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood is entrusted with arrangements.
