Ronald "Ron" Carl Bland, Franklin, IN, passed away on the early morning of Friday, June 30, 2023. He was 81 years old. Ron was born in Indianapolis, IN to his parents, Delbert Bland and Inez Bland. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School, class of 1960. Ron married his wife, Anne, and together they shared 35 years of marriage.Ron answered the call of this nation by enlisting into the United States Army and after his period of faithful service was honorably discharged.
Ron worked in Weights and Measures for the City of Indianapolis and retired after many years of service. Ron enjoyed owning and running his flower and garden business; it brought him joy to help others develop a passion for gardening. Ron also had an affinity for sports; his particular interest was golf. Ron's family will also lovingly remember his fantastic cooking abilities, especially when they make his delicious biscuits and gravy recipes. Ron's sense of humor along with his character will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Ron is survived by his step-children, Heather, Becca and Marc Wagman.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anne Bland; his son, Ronnie Bland.
