Obituary for RONALD O. MATTOX
Beloved father and husband, Ronald O. Mattox, age 72 of Trafalgar, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Services will beheld at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 23, 2007 with a viewing Monday, October 22, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on SR 135 in Greenwood. He is survived by a son, Randy Mattox and a daughter, Jennifer (Mattox) Hicks, both of Trafalgar and 6 grandchildren, a brother, Earl Mattox and sister, Joan Lakes, both of Greenwood. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice C. (Hercamp) Mattox, his parents Otto & Elizabeth Mattox and a sister Linda Crooks. He was a retired pipe coverer with the Asbestos Workers & Pipe Coverer''s Union-Local 18. He was a regular attender of Fellowship Baptist church in Trafalgar and was a member of Emmanuel Church of Greenwood for many years. He served in the U.S. Army, Airborne division from 1954-1958 after graduating from Arsenal Tech High School in 1953. While in the military, he received certificates for Basic and Advanced Infantry Training and Airborne Training. He also received awards for Riflery Sharp Shooter, Good Conduct medal and the Parachutist badge. He served over seas for two years. He fought the good fight, he stayed the course, and now he is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus. Visitation will be Monday, October 22, 2007 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana.
