Ronald Lee Miller of Greenwood, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. He was 81 years old. Ron was born in Trafalgar, IN to his parents Carl Miller Sr. and Naomi Margaret Cox. He attended Washington High School. Ron married his wife, Karen Miller, on January 19, 1963, and they shared 62 years of marriage together. Ron was a loving and devoted husband.
Ron worked as a tile setter for Blakley's and Tremain, and was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 4 for over 40 years before retiring in 2005. Ron was a skilled craftsman, and although too humble to say it himself, truly a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering on cars, amongst other home design projects, and was a willing teacher to others. You could often find him in the garage with his tools, working in the yard, or on his porch swing appreciating the sights and sounds of nature. He was gentle, generous, and kind not only to his family, but also the wildlife around him. He even lovingly rescued their beloved pet cat, Miss Kitty. Ron loved to spend time with those closest to him and knew just how to make them laugh. He will be remembered for his humor, wit, one-liners, and positive outlook on life regardless of the circumstances. He was a man of faith who always put his family first and remained a constant, dependable resource to those who needed him. Ron will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family and friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Karen Miller; his children, Kim (Dan) Shumaker, Tim (Carla) Miller, Loralynn (Don) Dale, and Kellie (Brad) Robertson; his grandchildren, Dylan, Timmie, Riley, Madison, Adam, Caroline, Casey, Dawson and Claire; his great grandchild, T.J.; his sister in law, Jean Miller.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Carl Miller Jr. and his wife Jean, and Wallace Miller; his great grandchild, Lucy Mae;
A visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 11:00 am.
