Mrs. Rose Ann Tanner, Franklin, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, December 16, 2020. She was 77. Rose was born March 27, 1943 in Beech Grove, Indiana a daughter of the late Carl John and Elvira Margaret (Seyfried) Niedenthal.

Rose attended Sacred Heart High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1961 and then graduated from Indiana Business College in 1962. She had been employed at the Marion County Sheriff's Department as a transcriptionist retiring in 2009. She had also owned and operated Animal World in Indianapolis for four years.

Rose spent much of her leisure time baking wedding cakes, visiting the casino and playing cards (especially Euchre). She was a member of the Perry Township Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and St. Jude Catholic Church. Rose loved her family and looked forward to the time they spent together.

She is survived by her sons, Dale (Melanye) Tanner, William Tanner and Daniel (Rebecca) Tanner as well as her bonus sons, Brent Richardson and Rodney (Lisa) Fox; her grandchildren, Andrew (Dana) Tanner, Ashley (Kevin) Chaney, Alexander (Rachael) Tanner and Elijah Tanner; four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Carla (Gary) Volz and Elizabeth (Larry) Walda; her sister-in-law, Marsha Niedenthal and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her brother, Robert Niedenthal.

Services will be conducted at 10:00am, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00pm, Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the funeral home.
