Constable Roy A. Houchins, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away Sat. Mar. 6, 2010. Born May 22, 1939, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kay, and Brenda Ellen Houchins his daughter. Surviving him is his loving wife, Ginger, children Jack Houchins, Angie Pfeiffer (Dave), Chris Houchins, Phil Houchins, Robert Bryant, Kristi Wright (Rick), all of Indianapolis, 12 grand children and 15great grandchildren. He was a Union carpenter/BA for over 30 years. He also served as a deputy sheriff for 12 years before being elected to serve as Perry Township Constable in 2004. He also served as the director of the Indiana Constables Association. As a born again Christian, Roy attended several local churches regularly. He was a member of Cumberland Lodge F&AM # 726, the Scottish Rite, The Shrine, The Columbia Club, The Antelope Club, and The Indianapolis Athletic Club. He spent most of his life serving others and was a wonderful influence on all that knew him. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Sat. Mar 13th from 11- 4 with funeral services immediately after. All to be held at First Christian Charities at 6190 E. 38th St. Indianapolis, IN
