In loving memory of Russell "Russ" Lee Sedam, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away August 2, 2023 in his home. He was a son of Charles and Esther Sedam. Russ was born June 11th, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN. Russ grew up on the southside of Indianapolis with his eight siblings and graduated from Manual High School, class of 1956.
He retired from Western Electric/ Lucent Technologies and after his retirement, he went on to be a tax advisor at H&R Block for 20 years. Russ was a lifelong Hoosier and remained a Indianapolis Colts and IU fan throughout his life. Russ was a strong, hardworking man and the rock of the family. He took pride in everything he did.
Russ is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Joann Sedam of 52 years, his children, Denise (Chuck) Benenati, Darrin (Beth) Johnson, Duane Johnson, Cheryl McMorris, and Kevin Sedam as well as several grandchildren.
Russ is preceded in death by his parents and his eight siblings.
A visitation for Russ will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.
