Ruth Ann Bateman Hoagland, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 in Regency Place of Greenwood. The daughter of Carl Monroe and Mable Louise Harris Bateman, Ruth Ann was born on Saturday, May 12, 1945 in Indianapolis.

Ruth Ann graduated from Emmerich Manual High School. A homemaker, she worked for the Kroger Bakery for several years. Ruth Ann was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, loved gospel music, gardening and sewing.

Ruth Ann is survived by her husband, Daniel W. Hoagland of Indianapolis, whom she married on Saturday, September 12, 1970; sons, Carl B. Liford of Indianapolis, Darrell Allen Hoagland of Indianapolis, Warren Scott Hoagland of Indianapolis and David William Hoagland of Indianapolis; brother, Larry Dean Bateman of Indianapolis and 16 grandchildren. Besides her parents, Ruth Ann was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Michael Liford.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow funeral services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
