Ruth Callahan, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away September 23, 2013. Born October 7, 1936 in Spann, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Perry F. and Mabel L. (Clark) Chriswell. She married Leroy G. Callahan on August 25, 1970 in Beech Grove.

Ruth worked as a clerk and auditor in the hotel industry for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Post # 88 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and traveling.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Leroy; daughters Kelly (Garry) Ritter and Brenda (Locke) Lozier; step-daughters, Sharon Copenhaver and Janie (Dave) Klink; a step-son, Pat Callahan; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, September 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN. 46143. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
