Ruth E. Mitchell, 85 of Greenwood passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022. She was born to the late Frank and Hazel Wrobel in Hartford, Connecticut.

She met the love of her life Larry and married him in a small chapel on September 1, 1962. In 1970 they moved to Greenwood and then welcomed two wonderful children.

Ruth was a staple in the kitchen of Mount Pleasant Christian Church for over 40 years. She had to of washed every pot and pan, clean every inch of the kitchens and cooked/served hundreds of meals ruling in her inevitable Ruth style. Those who served with her lovingly called her "Sarge Mitchell". She certainly earned her servant heart stripes!

Ruth is survived by her husband of 59 years Larry Mitchell; a daughter Cami (Ronald) Gerstung and two grandchildren Jackson and William Gerstung which were her pride and joy. She is preceded in death by both parents and a son Brian Mitchell.
