Ruth Pfaff, Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was 82 years old. Ruth was born in Washington, IN, to her parents Henry and Helen Norris. She graduated from Our Lady of Grace High School, class of 1960. Ruth married her husband Stephen Pfaff, on September 29, 1962, and together they shared 51 years of marriage until Stephen passed away in 2013.
Ruth was a hard worker and loved staying busy. She helped with her husband's fast-food franchises and later became a real estate agent at Steve Pfaff Real Estate Services. Ruth found comfort in reading her bible and often came back to the serenity prayer during difficult times. She enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and spending time at Disney World with her family. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild. Ruth will be remembered for her outspoken nature and generous heart. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Ruth is survived by her children, Joanie Pfaff, Lisa Pfaff, Ed Pfaff, and James (Myra) Pfaff; her grandchildren, Ashley (Ericson) Hickey-Sy, Colin Pfaff, and Chase Pfaff; her great-grandchild, Camilla Sy; her siblings, Barbara Noone, Pat Griggs, Steve Norris, Rosemary Hall, and Linda Norris; her nieces and nephews, Cheryl Doerr, Mark Doerr, Kevin Doerr, and several others.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen; her parents; her mother-in-law, Judy Pfaff and her sister, Jane Toole.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Entombment will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 pm.
