Ruth Eleanor Powell, 82, of Algood, TN. died Friday, March 20, 2009 in Algood, TN. Ruth was born July 16, 1926 in Kokomo, IN to the late Hugh Corwin and Emily Ellis O'Neal. Ruth was a former member of the Kokomo Friends Church and a current member of the West Newton Friends in West Newton, IN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a daughter, Jan Ellen Ludwig, and a sister Jean White. Ruth is survived by her husband of 62 years John W. Powell of Algood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Kay Powell of Algood, Patrick and Carol Powell and Jay and Patricia Powell; one brother and sister-in-law, Ellis and Harriet O'Neal; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Doris and Ivan Bull and Louise White; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm Wednesday, March 25th at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Rd. 135, Greenwood.
