Ruth Kathryn Smith Wilson, 88, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab. The daughter of John and Floy Hazel Roeschlein Smith, Ruth was born October 11, 1924 in Sugar Ridge Township, Clay County, Indiana.

For several years, Ruth worked as a clerk in retail and was a supervisor with Indiana Bell Telephone Company. She enjoyed fishing and gardening, crafting, crocheting, playing cards and bingo and was an avid photographer.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Judy Wilson of Greenwood; grandchildren, Mike Wilson of Franklin and Lisa (Todd) Nichols of Greenwood and nieces, Carla Bowden and Vicki Grecio, both of Louisiana. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil O. Wilson; son, Bob Wilson; brothers, Harvey and Bob Smith and sister, Betty Wagoner.

Pastor Martin Bornhoeft will conduct funeral services 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
