Sandra "Sandy" Sue Courtney Whetstine, 59, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013, with her family by her side.

She was born October 29, 1953, in Richmond to Ernest Eugene and Mary Elizabeth (Rupe) Courtney. She graduated from Indian Creek High School, Class of 1971, and earned a bachelor''s degree from Purdue University

Sandy retired from the State of Indiana - Division of Child Services.

She is survived by two daughters, Megan Elisa (Michael) Bunch and Hanna Marie Whetstine; two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madelyn; two brothers, Jeff (Tammy) and Allen Courtney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Phyllis (King) Whetstine; brother-in-law, Richard (Pam) Whetstine; sister-in-law, Luann (Tim) Smith; four nephews, four nieces; six great-nephews and five great-nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, Travis Eugene; husband, Norman "Butch" Whetstine; father and mother; sister, Cindy Fryer; and brother-in-law, Brad Whetstine.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
