Shafter Mills, age 78, of Trafalgar, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 with his family at his side. He was born July 14, 1934 in Manchester, Kentucky to Lloyd and Wornie (Woods) Mills. Shafter was a road construction worker for many years. He loved to spend time with his family and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Shafter is survived by his sons, Tony of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Shafter Jr., Benjamin and Jonathan Mills, all of Indianapolis; daughters, Jennifer Mills, of Pennsylvania, Shannon (Christian) Mills of Mooresville, Shelley (James) Allen of Beech Grove; brother, Lee Roy (Florence) Mills of Richmond, Indiana; sisters, Gracie (Raymond) Kelso of Indianapolis, Shelby J. Parks of Indianapolis and Janet Walker of Indianapolis; fifteen grandchildren. Shafter was preceded in death by his parents; son, Travis and great granddaughter, Aubrey Henthorn.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 3, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
