Sharon Kinder, Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025. She was 83 years old. Sharon was born in Quincy, IL, to her parents Donald and Irene Brinkoetter. She graduated from Southport High School, class of 1960, and attended Central Business College. Sharon married her soulmate, Donald Kinder, on November 5, 1989, and they shared 21 years of marriage together.
Sharon worked as a secretary for the Program Director of Channel 4 until retirement. Sharon was a member of Smith Valley United Methodist Church since November of 2015. She was involved with the church's prayer group and the church's garage sale committee. Sharon also participated in a book club and the Southport High School Alumni monthly social club. She enjoyed maintaining her flower garden, going thrifting, and collecting angel figurines, bird houses, and snowmen. Boating and fishing at Cataract Lake were also some of her favorite things to do. Sharon will be remembered for her outspoken opinionated moxy, independent will, and overall strength that carried her through life. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Sharon is survived by her children, Tammy (Ron) Rose and Julie (Ron) Nagel; her stepchildren, Jane (David) Collisi and Donita Kinder; her grandchildren, Hailey (Jared) Stafford, Maria (Adam) Lutgring, Lindsey Rose, Matthew Nagel, Benjamin Nagel, and Faith Nagel; her step grandchildren, Josh (Chelsea) Collisi and Jake (Chelsea) Collisi; her great grandchildren, Jack and Cara; her siblings, Donna (Bud) Tackett, Gary (Janis) Brinkoetter, and Steve (Emy) Brinkoetter; and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Kinder; her infant son, Douglas Hartman.
A private celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
