Mr. Sherlock J. Lewis, Greenwood, passed away January 1, 2021. He was 77. Sherlock was born December 5, 1943 in Montgomery, Alabama a son of the late Groveton and Comogia (Johnson) Lewis.

Sherlock had been employed with the Paulson Wire Rope Company as a salesman for over 30 years before retiring in 2001. He then served as an area manager with WalMart for 10 years. He was a member of the Southport Church of the Nazarene where he served on the Church Board and taught Sunday School. In his leisure time he enjoyed watching Fox News, The Three Stooges and Clint Eastwood movies. He dearly loved his family and cherished the time they spent together.

Sherlock is survived by his children, Barbara (Robert) Martin, Donald (Marina) Lewis and Bruce (Annabelle) Lewis, ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his sister, Christy Gaskin as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his loving wife, Shirley Ann (Harris) Lewis and three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 pm, Monday, January 11, 2021 at the Southport Church of the Nazarene, 920 E. Southport Rd., Indianapolis with Rev. Tim Lanigan officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until the time of service at the church.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to Southport Church of the Nazarene or The Wheeler Mission.
