Mrs. Sherry Marie Sesslar, Greenwood, passed away on the early afternoon of Thursday, March 18, 2021. She was 81. Sherry was born January 6, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Lee Roy Rutledge and Helen Marie (White) Rutledge Poling.

Sherry attended Emmerich Manual High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1958. She had a 20 year career at Saint Francis Hospital where she worked as a Radiology transcriptionist before retiring in 2004. Sherry loved antiques and spent a good portion of her leisure time shopping for those treasures. She immensely enjoyed traveling and especially going to the beaches of Pensacola, Florida. Always one to take care of her family, Sherry was a fantastic cook and looked forward to preparing Sunday dinners for them…always from scratch! She would agree that her greatest accomplishment was her family and she loved each and every one of the dearly and cherished the time they spent together.

She was a member of St. Barnabus Catholic Church in Indianapolis.

Sherry is survived by her children, Tom (Kristin) Sesslar and Ashley Sesslar; her grandchildren, Katie, Brayden, Brody, Caleb, Olivia, Lola, Ava, Mia, Ali, Shelby and Casey; her great-grandchildren, Laila, Calvin and Adelynn as well as her sister Glenda Stafford.

She is preceded in passing by her husband, Richard Carl Sesslar; her daughter, Nina McClain, her grandson, Matthew and two sisters, Sandra Walden and Kassa Sigman.

Services for Sherry will be private and burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
