Shirley Ann Eakle, age 74, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was born July 31, 1940 in Indianapolis to William E. and Anna (Eisenmenger) Dennison. Shirley was a brazer at C.T.P. Corp for 20 plus years. She was a member of The American Legion Post # 276 in Beech Grove and she loved to travel and gamble. Shirley married Don Eakle on January 20, 1955 and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2010.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Alva (Donna) Eakle and Quinten (RaeAnn) Eakle; daughters, Teresa Stearns, Kimberly (Ben, "Pootie") White, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Darlene Eakle; sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Silcox, Carolyn York, and Sandra Pruitt; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Don Eakle, Jr., daughter, Terry Ann Eakle, grandson, Nathan Eakle and son-in-law, Rodney Stearns, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
