Sonia "Sonny" Trapani, 79, of Greenwood, IN passed away Thursday November 21, 2010. Sonia was born on December 13, 1930 in New York City. She is survived by her loving husband Joseph Trapani. Other survivors include her two daughters: Linda Trapani, Ruth Bashenow and her husband Alex, her grandchildren Alex, Lauren and Nicholas Bashenow, two brothers: Jerry Tepper and his wife Barbara and Abe Rosenberg, three sisters: Marlene Rosenberg, Dale Rosenberg, and Annette Pietriello. She is preceded by her parents: Robert and Ruth Rosenberg, and one son: Anthony Trapani. Sonny was known as someone who was soft spoken, funny, with a genuine love and compassion for others. She volunteered for many year in the Oasis reading program for young school aged children. Prior to that she volunteered in a reading program in Hazel Green, Alabama where she received an award for volunteer of the year. She was an avid painter with a love for art, books, and the theater.
