Obituary

Rev. Stanley D. Thomas, age 85, of Indianapolis, passed away May 3, 2010. He was born January 2, 1925 in Cave City, KY to Ancil and Bessie (Gillenwater) Thomas. Stanley worked at Bridgeport Brass for 38 years and was a member and Chaplain of the Quarter Century Club and a member of the Fire Dept. at Bridgeport Brass. He was an Ordained Minister of the Wesleyan Tabernacle Association and former pastor of Friendship Church and Sand Creek Church. He was a member at Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene. Stanley married Thelma Eadens on May 26, 1948 and she survives along with his son Steve (Julie) Thomas of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Brenda Brunes of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Derek (Lisa) Gibbs, Melissa and Samuel Thomas, three sisters, Elizabeth Tooley, Joyce (Larry) Bushong and Eva Rich. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Edison Thomas. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 8, at 11:00 AM at Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene, 10951 E. County Rd. 100 S., Indianapolis, 46231, with visitation from 9:00AM until service time and visitation at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, 46143, on Friday, May 7, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
