On September 1, 2025, Jesus welcomed Stefanie Lynne Windisch, age 40, into her eternal home in Heaven.
Stefanie was born February 19, 1985, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Richard Joseph Windisch and Norma Ruth (Hatton) Poynter. She graduated Decatur Central High School in 2004.
She is survived by her parents, Norma and Randy Poynter of Camby, and Richard and Janet Windisch of Greenfield; her sisters Emily (Erik) Toler, Valerie (Shane) Bolden, Cindy (Todd) Klopfenstein, and Amy (Josh) Napier; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Tessa Powers, Mara Powers, Olivia Klopfenstein, Owen Klopfenstein, Violet Bolden, Ella Toler, Scarlett Bolden, Brooklyn Sims, Paul Hendren, Levi Napier, Elijah Napier, Leiah Napier, and Caleb Napier. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ora Alice Windisch, Kenneth William and Claudine Lula Hatton, Geraldine Poynter; and uncles Michael Windisch and Dale Hatton.
Stefanie was a long-time member of Charlene's Angels, where she formed lifelong friendships. She never knew a stranger and had an extraordinary gift for remembering birthdays, ensuring that everyone she loved felt celebrated. Stefanie especially cherished family gatherings—Christmas with the Hatton family and sleepovers with her nieces brought her so much joy. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m at Forest Lawn Memory Funeral Home, with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
