Sue C. Murphy, 79, of Mooresville passed away May 21, 2016. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 27, 1936 to Cecil Arthur and Ellen Marie Shinkle.

Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired from Western Electric after 31 years of faithful service. She was a member of the Eastern Star as well as numerous bowling leagues. Sue enjoyed sewing, traveling, and most of all she loved her family. She was happily married to her husband, Vernon Murphy for 62 years. Sue volunteered for Community Hospital sewing pillows for children.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Murphy; daughters, Susan (David) Roark, Janet (Danny) Smither and Candi (Jeff) Haggard; sister, Norma (Jimmy) Ipock; grandchildren, Jennifer, Craig (Ruth Ann), Chad (Jessica), Jason (Jennifer), Jessica (Martin) and Matthew; great grandchildren, Kylie, Whitney, Madison, Chad II, Savanna, Chloe and Kaden.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 11 am, also in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
