IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Terry Kenneth
Montgomery
September 10, 1958 – November 15, 2022
We are sad to announce the passing of Terry Kenneth "Kenny" Montgomery of Indianapolis, Indiana. He died at age 64 on November 15, 2022.
Our father, Terry Kenneth "Kenny" Montgomery, left this world on November 15, 2022, at the age of 64 to be with Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ. Which is something he never feared. He knew exactly where he would end up. He belonged to the Philadelphia Church of God.
Ken was born on September 10, 1958, to Jim and Norma Montgomery in Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his 3 children Amber Scaringe (Kory), Austin Montgomery (Hemlly) and Chastin Montgomery. He loved his kids more than anything in life except for when his grandkids came along. Kenny has 5 amazing granddaughters who loved their "big papaw", Ella, Kinsley, Harper, Eva and Alina.
Kenny had a love for basketball from an early age. He graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 1977, where he was a 4-year varsity starter, the school's all-time scoring leader, and was named to the 1977 Indiana All-star. Ken was honored to be selected to the Indiana Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary team. He accepted a scholarship to North Carolina State, a year later he transferred to the University of Texas where he became a lifelong Longhorn.
Ken married Babette (Evans) Montgomery and had 2 children together, Amber and Austin. In 2002, Dad welcomed his 3rd child Chastin Avery with Renee Henry. They enjoyed playing backgammon together and picking drivers for the NASCAR race every Sunday. A proud moment in Ken's life was when Austin followed in his footsteps and became a 2003 Indiana All Star out of Perry Meridian High School. Basketball has always been a part of his life in his younger years while playing and meeting lifelong friends, while watching Amber and Austin in high school and then as a proud grandparent watching his granddaughters play. He loved that the most! That is exactly what he did his last day here on earth. That brings a smile to our face.
We will celebrate him, tell his jokes and stories of his life at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143, on November 18, 2022, visitation from 3:00pm to 4:30pm with a brief service at 4:30 to follow.
